The Opportunity

YSE Beauty is seeking a full-time Project Manager (Product Development & Marketing) to support our rapidly growing brand. This person will create, own and drive forward project timelines across the entire lifecycle of our products, from initial concept to marketing campaign concept and launch.

Our ideal candidate is a highly collaborative planner with deep experience working in
beauty and at least 4-5 yearsʼ experience owning project management timelines from A to Z. A meticulously detailed go-getter, this person will have experience working cross-functionally with multiple different stakeholders across PD, marketing, creative, regulatory/quality, and operations – as well as external vendors and agencies such as contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers.

With the creativity to help come up with solutions to complex problems and the ability to coordinate many different peopleʼs activities in a fast-paced start-up environment, this person will proactively seek out solutions and troubleshoot problems while driving critical and product launches and related timelines forward. They will also ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the entire project lifecycle.



Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 4-5 years' project management experience, with at least 3+ years in the beauty industry required
  • Demonstrated ability to own project management across the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to marketing campaign/launch - while adhering to company goals and timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with different internal stakeholders (PD, marketing and creative, operations, regulatory, quality, and more), as well as external vendors (contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and adhere to timelines, budgets and resources while identifying potential risks/delays, and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and drive deliverables from internal/external resources according to timelines
  • Demonstrated nimbleness and problem-solving ability when faced with unexpected challenges
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • A strong work ethic; a flexible, can-do attitude; and the ability to embrace constructive feedback and maintain a positive attitude
  • A desire to learn and grow; constantly striving for excellence in execution
  • Extremely strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • 3+ years experience in the beauty industry required
  • Experience in both DTC and retail preferred
  • Early-stage start-up experience preferred
  • B.A. in Business or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management software (Asana or Wrike) required



Duties & Responsibilities

Product Development:

  • Develop, own and manage all timelines for product launches, working closely with PD/marketing/operations/leadership team as well as CMs and other suppliers to deliver product by projected launch dates
  • Create and manage timelines for all aspects of product development, including:
    Brief delivery to CMs and vendors
    - Formula submissions / approvals
    - Regulatory approval and claims review
    - Timelines for all testing, including compatibility, safety, heavy metals, etc.
    - Timelines for clinical and consumer perception studies, if applicable
    - Pilot and line trials
    - Batch approvals
    - Micro testing
  • As requested by department head, help track expenses

Packaging:

  • Develop, own and manage product packaging timelines, working closely with marketing, creative, PD and packaging consultants as well as suppliers to deliver packaging for production runs
  • Create and manage timelines for all aspects of packaging, including:
    - Concept + renderings
    - Briefing of packaging vendors
    - Sourcing
    - Artwork development (copy, design) and necessary internal approvals
    - PPS and production sample approvals
  • As requested by department head, help track expenses

Marketing & Creative:

  • Work with SVP of Marketing and Creative Director to develop / manage marketing campaign timelines for product launches and related company initiatives
  • Create and manage timelines for 360 marketing campaigns to support product launches
  • Help department head track to budget as requested


Operations:

  • Work with operations and logistics team to ensure that they are issuing POs, LOIs, BOMs, etc. on time to adhere to company launch timelines, manufacturer/vendor supplied timelines and with quoted pricing
  • Work with operations and logistics team to ensure freight forwarding deliveries arrive within product launch timelines


Retail Launch & Ongoing Business:

  • Work with company leadership team to develop retail launch timelines.
  • Own, manage and execute against timelines for launch and ongoing retail business, working with internal and external teams as necessary
  • Includes but not limited to:
    - Visual merchandising plans
    - Marketing 360 plans
    - Product launches, marketing campaigns and events/activations
    - Development of sales and education support (e.g., education videos)
    - POs/inventory timelines
    - Agency/consultant or new hire onboarding timelines
