The Opportunity
YSE Beauty is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Intern to support our social media platforms and marketing initiatives. The Social Media and Marketing Intern will create and edit content across YSE Beauty’s various social media platforms – primarily Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest. This person will report to – and work hand-in-hand with – the team’s Social Media Manager and Senior Marketing Manager to create and execute against the company’s social media strategy and influencer marketing. As such, they will play a critical role in telling our brand story across our social media channels, engaging with and delighting our audience, and creating a sense of shared community. They will also prospect influencers that align with brand values and assist in managing relationships within YSE Beauty’s current influencer network. This individual will also partner with Senior Marketing Manager to vet any outreach coming through our various partners and Customer Service inboxes to determine opportunities worth pursuing including, but not limited to, press requests, partnership requests, etc.
A highly collaborative self-starter, this person will bring bold and creative ideas to the table; keep the team informed of emerging trends and competitive landscape; and help create, test and scale content that captures (1) uniquely elevated aesthetic + cheeky, playful wit and (2) our founder’s warm, aspirational and relatable personality. They will attend weekly check-ins with the marketing team and social team to discuss progress, areas of opportunity, and have further in-depth conversations about current projects.
Our ideal candidate is highly creative, proactively brings fresh ideas to the table, is unafraid to try new things, can iterate quickly, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and iterative start-up environment. Graphic design experience or working towards a Graphic Design degree
(using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma) preferred but not required. Must commit to a 3 month internship. Must be able to commute to our Brentwood office.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Concept/create, shoot, and edit content across social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok & Facebook)
- Communicate cross-functionally with internal & external partners regarding any updates when it comes to scheduling, agenda topics, shipments, etc.
- Place product orders for the office, partners, etc. to ensure that product giftings are sent out in a timely manner; maintain office and external PR agency stock; keep the office closet organized with products, and shipping materials.
- Lead organization of the shared drive to ensure that all archived marketing files are in one place.
- Help facilitate ongoing seeding and gifting programs to secure online influencer engagement.
- Prospect influencers that align with brand values and assist in managing relationships within YSE current influencer network.
- Assist in creative research and project management for influencer mailer development.
- Assist in setting up for events, trunk shows, or activations and photoshoots.
- Scheduling and community management on Facebook/ Youtube
Skill Sets:
- Ability to concept/create, shoot, and edit content across social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok & Facebook)
- Experience working with in-app editing tools (e.g. on TikTok and Instagram), as well as traditional video editing tools.
- An elevated, cohesive visual style
- Excellent organizational skills; the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- A strong work ethic; a flexible, can-do attitude; the ability to iterate quickly and embrace constructive feedback
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- A desire to learn and grow; constantly striving for excellence in execution
